Return on 2021
The year 2021, like its predecessor, will have been full of surprises. Between new employees, a new office and a reorientation of the agency, get ready to see a lot in this article!
Change within the Agency team
The start of the new year was marked by a gentle recovery. Then, as the days progressed, we found ourselves underwater. We had to face the facts: our small team of four was no longer enough. The end of February saw the gradual arrival of Alexandra and Joanna, followed by Juliette. They joined us for internships in graphic design, UX design and marketing copywriting respectively. Going from a team of 4 to 7 was no mean feat. But we managed to strike a balance between discussion and productivity, between seriousness and laughter. All from a distance.
In April, we decided it was time to make our beautiful team official with a photoshoot. For most of us, this was our first face-to-face meeting, and the chemistry flowed even better than through our screens. At the end of their internships, Alexandra and Juliette had the opportunity to become the Agency’s official graphic designer and copywriter respectively. At the request of the whole team! So we started the summer with each other and slowly found a new cruising speed across several time zones.
The start of the new school year is often synonymous with new objectives, and our colleague Joanie has left to explore new horizons. So we decided to take on a new recruit, to add to our ranks. That’s when Alexia, our new marketing assistant, makes her appearance. During the autumn, we were lucky enough to welcome Alexandra on site for two weeks, which were rich in activities, laughter and discoveries. We also took the opportunity to do another photoshoot with the whole team. This period was also marked by our first official party: the Halloween party with Agence Opale!
The end of the year was marked by the announcement of Rebecca’s departure at the beginning of 2022. Two new gems have also joined our ranks, and you’ll be hearing all about them very soon.
Teleworking and the arrival of the new Agency office
So, this year began quietly, with everyone working from home. Every day of the week, we got together to share our ideas, our successes, our difficulties and our hopes of getting back to normal life.
The increase in the number of people taking part in our online get-togethers cheered us up. But integrating a new employee into all our work processes is no easy task. And yet it is. The majority of the team began their journey at Middle by telecommuting. This pushed us to develop our communication skills and work processes internally. And today, as our beautiful founder would say, “We’re sharp!
Then, in June, Karelle gave us the news we’d all been waiting to hear: she wanted to find a new office for the agency. What followed was an active search for an office on the Plateau – Mont-Royal. Bright enough to have an army of green plants. Big enough, too, to allow us to come in if the distancing measures came back on the agenda. Each of us came up with her own decorating ideas, and the project began to take shape in our imaginations. At the end of the month, Karelle and Rebecca announced that they had found the rare gem at the corner of Clark and Mont-Royal.
The Agence will officially move into its new offices on August 1, 2021. But before the arrival of the employees, a reappropriation of the space was in order: paintbrushes and a few pots of green and peach paint later, and here we are in a space that looks just like us. Since then, several other additions have been made: a conference room, a cocooning corner, a coworking space, a dining room… This office finally meets all our values and reflects our image: combining productivity and well-being Middle version.
And our customers?
2021 will have seen us return to our original target clientele: technology companies. This comeback to the start-up world is doing us a world of good, and we’re reorienting ourselves towards the services we were known for before the crisis: automation campaigns, sales tunnels and data mining. All the while, of course, retaining our skills in social media, both organic and paid.
We’re losing some customers, but gaining others. The team takes on challenges and achieves results that exceed objectives. We create synergies between our customers. We emphasize transparency and honesty in all our dealings, and this leads to successful collaborations based on trust.
During the autumn, we even had the opportunity to cover some major events, such as the Prix Jalon de la mobilité evening and the Grand Rendez-vous de l’innovation québécoise! But we didn’t forget about our Agency.
Over the summer, each of us set about creating a training course in our own speciality. Between August and November, you’ll find six marketing workshops highlighting our knowledge of digital marketing.
The year 2021 will therefore have been rich in challenges, but nothing our team of unicorns can’t overcome. Dear 2022, we’re looking forward to seeing you, ready to discover all your surprises!
